"How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!"

Psalm 84:1

The mission of Chrysalis is to establish safe and nurturing homes that would allow women who have suffered trauma and/or battled addiction a time of healing and growth, thus helping to ensure successful reentry into society and bring generational change to a cycle of poverty, addiction, abuse and neglect.

We are seeking, initially, a four to five bedroom home with a spacious dining room and living area to accommodate our first residents and the community that will provide support to them.  Additional desirable features could include an exercise room/area, classroom/instruction area, and possibly a shop area for the initial social enterprise endeavors. A rural location could accommodate on-site equine therapy and provide the peace and tranquility of God’s creation – removed from many of the triggers and temptations of their current environment.  An urban site could offer its own advantages, with proximity to community services and court-mandated reporting, etc. Additional homes and commercial sites may be pursued in the future as needs arise and the funding becomes available.

These homes are intended to provide a safe and nurturing environment where women are supported through every step of their healing process.  In some cases, there may be a support staff who lives in the home with the women.  In all cases, there will be programming, structure, security and accountability for the residents.  Chrysalis will offer protected time and space for true healing, time for neural pathways to re-circuit, for old habits to be replaced by healthy behaviors, and discovery of a new identity in Christ.  Similar efforts in other cities are boasting success rates higher than 85%.
